Luis Sei Fong is a Uruguayan visual artist. His technique is a fusion of Chinese and Western painting, defined by his identity. Doubly oriental, with a Chinese father who was an expert calligrapher and a Uruguayan mother, he began drawing and painting from a very young age, training in various techniques under different masters.

Luis Sei Fong es un artista plástico uruguayo, su técnica es una fusión de la pintura china y la pintura occidental definida por su identidad. Doblemente oriental, su padre de origen chino experto calígrafo y su madre uruguaya, comenzó a dibujar y pintar desde muy joven formándose con diversas técnicas y maestros.

 
 
 

Luis paints his natural surroundings - live and direct, capturing moments, lights, sensations, and atmospheres.

Since 1980, he has been the director of the Luis Sei Fong Workshop in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he teaches courses in Watercolor, Chinese Painting, Drawing, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, and Pastel. He has held numerous exhibitions throughout Uruguay, promoting exchange with the local population through demonstrations, lectures, and workshops. He has received some national and international awards. Currently, his paintings are in private collections in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Canada, China, Malaysia, and Japan. Additionally, he has been a teacher of History, Drawing, and Creativity for 40 years in Public and Private Education and is the Director of the Seimei Aikikai Dojo in Uruguay, holding the 6th Dan and teaching for 47 years (currently at the Platense Patín Club).

Luis pinta su entorno natural - en vivo y directo, capturando instantes, luces, sensaciones y atmósferas. Desde 1980 es director del Taller Luis Sei Fong de Montevideo - Uruguay donde dicta cursos de Acuarela, Pintura China, Dibujo, Pintura al Óleo, Pintura Acrílica y Pastel. Ha realizado numerosas exposiciones en todo Uruguay, promoviendo el intercambio con la población local a través de demostraciones, conferencias y talleres. Ha obtenido algunos premios nacionales e internacionales. Actualmente sus pinturas se encuentran en colecciones privadas de Uruguay, Argentina, Brasil, Estados Unidos, Canadá, China, Malasia y Japón. Es profesor de Historia, Dibujo y creatividad durante 40 años en la Educación Pública y Privada y es Director del Seimei Aikikai Dojo en Uruguay, 6to Dan impartiendo clases por 47 años [actualmente en el Platense Patín Club].
